Have you ever heard, “That’s impossible”? Perhaps that’s your first clue that it’s worth doing! History repeatedly shows that many of the greatest achievements happened because someone refused to accept that word. Persistence, belief, and discipline can often turn what seems impossible into something inevitable.

Never tell a young person that anything

cannot be done. God may have been waiting

centuries for someone ignorant enough of

the impossible to do that very thing.

— G. M. Trevelyan

Listening to the stories of Winter Olympic athletes revealed a powerful pattern.

The common thread was an ability to see beyond what was possible—at least what others deemed to be so—and to pursue a goal with passion and practice.

Persistent belief. Persistent effort. Persistent coaching. Persistent development.

Mountains aren't conquered in the peaceful tranquility of the valley meadows. Painful resistance is essential to grow the muscles and mindset of a champion.

Some of the world’s greatest feats were

accomplished by people not smart enough

to know they were impossible.

— Doug Larson

Believing it's impossible makes it so. Dreams will at first appear impossible, but faithful persistence against that resistance moves them into the possible. Add to that commitment other people with shared belief and willingness to walk that journey, and soon progress transforms impossible into inevitable.

Sometimes the impossible is achieved because they just didn't know any better. Ignorance of the risks allows the success of many entrepreneurs and inventors.

Let your eyes look straight ahead;

fix your gaze directly before you.

Give careful thought to the paths for your

feet and be steadfast in all your ways.

— Proverbs 4:25-26

Distraction is a dream killer, where we get off purpose because our eyes wander toward personal disputes, mind crushing scrolls, or time consuming busyness.

No one overcomes the friction by passively, reactively just letting life happen. A champion fixates on staying true to the right path, on learning from the right people, on taking the right steps, on taking care of their heart, mind, and body.

Discipline is destiny. How we use our time, energy, and intellect is predictive.

Persist in the impossible.  Be the pathway by refusing to be the resistance in your goals and their's.
