When someone cuts in front of you in line, some people get thrown off track. But the people who stay grounded in purpose tend to keep moving forward anyway. They bend when necessary, adjust when required, but they don’t allow frustration to redefine who they are or why they started.

If you consider yourself a victim,

you are not going to have a good life...

refuse to let your inner self be conquered

by your external circumstances.

— Viktor Frankl

No one likes to have others cut in front of them at the water fountain, the lunch room, the carpool line, or during the race. Around here, that's considered rude.

But people still do it as a power move that communicates their goals are more important, and it can become a disruption to our spirit and mindset if we let it.

When we remember our purpose, we can endure and even find joy in hardship. We have both the power and the freedom to not be conquered and controlled.

You were running a good race. Who cut in

on you to keep you from obeying the truth?

That kind of persuasion does not come

from the one who calls you‬.

— Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭8

When runners are trying to pass others, sometimes they cut it too close, forcing those behind to break stride or take evasive action in order to avoid contact.

People can and will cut in on us, intentionally or unintentionally throwing us off our game with foolish words, competitive positioning, manipulation, etc.
We may bend under the pressure, but we will not allow our spirit to be broken.
Courage is found in living on purpose rather than simplistic positive thinking.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly

trying to make you something else

is the greatest accomplishment.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Stay true to Truth. Not mere opinion energized by motivated reasoning, but that which is eternally and reliably true over time and throughout generations.

Stay true to People. Build relationships and reputation so that when someone tries to throw us off stride, the people around already know who we really are.

Stay true to Calling. If we keep striding decisively toward our
Why, those trying to cut in will simply find themselves frustrated by our focus and motivation.

Ply Your Why! Purposefully persevere through the pressure and pain to sustain joy in the journey.
