Of Course It's Personal

Our daily choices have personal consequences for others. People are personal, and so everything we do, is personal. Our work, our play, our preparation, our faith, our values and habits our choices…our life is personal. And our personal interactions with others changes the world.
The beauty of life is that every moment
offers a chance for a new personal best.
— Eckhart Tolle
Regardless of futile efforts to make it not so, life is always personal. It matters. In moments of reflection, we remember just how significantly our own journey has been shaped by others who made it personal by going beyond reasonably expected. A parent. A teacher. A coach. A friend. Sometimes even a complete stranger.
Who we have become cannot be viewed independently from the people who cared about us personally and gave their personal best so that we could become our best.
It’s personal because I care,
and caring always makes it personal.
— Maya Angelou
Our work as educators is personal because we change the trajectory of people's lives. It doesn't get more personal than that!
It's personal because our faith enables their belief. A huge factor in them achieving their dreams and overcoming the barriers is having someone who believes in them.
It's personal because our values and habits have a large effect on who they become. We too often overlook the impact we all have in shaping the destiny of other people.
It’s not personal? Of course,
it’s personal—every choice is.
— Ruth Bader Ginsburg
We make daily choices that have personal consequences for those around us. Success can be evaluated based on whether we were ready and delivered our personal best—after all, that's the benchmark that matters at the end of the day.
Excellence isn't a skill. It's an attitude with the right habits honed through practice. No one who daily practices the habits of excellence fails to be richly rewarded.
At all times, especially today, “keep it personal”, consistently delivering the best version of you.
